Outside Interests Module

Cayuse “Outside Interests” module is used by faculty, staff and students who are Key Personnel participating on Sponsored Projects and/or Investigators conducting research with human subjects who need to disclose any significant financial conflict of interest related to the IRB study.

Key Personnel are defined as Principal Investigator (PI), Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), Co-Investigator (Co-I), Investigator, Fellow and Mentor.

When Do I Need To Complete An Outside Interest Disclosure?

A Research-based Disclosure is required for each proposal submission for all key personnel at the time of proposal submission and again at award setup.

An Annual Disclosure is required for all investigators and key personnel participating in sponsored research projects. After submitting an initial disclosure, investigators are required to complete an annual disclosure to verify that previously reported information remains accurate and to disclose any new or changed Significant Financial Interests. Investigators must update their disclosures annually and within 30 days of discovering or acquiring a new Significant Financial Interest.

Outside Interest Disclosure Management

Cayuse allows for full oversight and storage of the disclosure forms and management plans for all employees. The research-based disclosure forms are completed in Cayuse by faculty and staff and housed within the system.

How Do I Access The Outside Interest Module In Cayuse?

You can access Cayuse Outside Interests via your Cayuse profile at this link: https://wpunj.app.cayuse.com/admin-web/profile/profile

To get to your profile, click on your name at the right hand corner of the Sponsored Projects homepage.

Next, select "My Profile" from the dropdown options

Once in your profile, at the bottom of the left-hand tab, select COI Disclosures, and then select Research-based Disclosure.

The Research-based Disclosure will require that you include the date that you completed AND passed the training in the COI system. You can sign into the Citi Program system at https://www.citiprogram.org and verify your information before completing the form in Cayuse.
